Hi, I'm Nick and I'm working with my amazing team at Hype, the Crypto SuperAgency.

In 2013 I was the first employee of RetentionGrid (which we rebranded to Avari), where I was responsible for our user base of over 15k e-commerce stores as Director of Customer Success. After our acquisition by LiveIntent I shipped software to a user base of over 50 million people as Product Manager. This included bringing real time bidding (RTB) to our platform, by pioneering native advertising products for the likes of the NYT, Condé Nast, Washington Post. The world of AdTech didn't feel right so I quit to start a company.

As the COO at Hype I’ve been responsible for growing our organisation to over 170 people in 32 countries in three years, helping top-tier blockchain projects build communities and strategise their market approach. In 2019 I wrote a book about building and managing remote teams. You can get it on Amazon.

I've since moved on to product & innovation and founded Port, which got acquired in 2021 by Commsor. After that, I've helped build a web3 university, an onchain gaming product, and our validator service.

In 2024 we built Mode, where I was responsible for taking the network from zero to launch as Chief Product Officer. I deployed the core product stack that supported both developers and end-users: sequencer, RPC nodes, block explorer, chain indexing, and dashboards. I also designed the incentive framework, including a real-time algorithm to quantify ecosystem contributions such as TVL, user referrals, asset productivity (e.g. liquidity provision), and dapp usage, which powered Mode’s growth programs and governance.

As Mode shifted toward AI-driven DeFi, I led the development of the AI Terminal/Quant (using LLMs and tool calling to translate user intent into onchain actions) and supported Synth, a decentralised Bittensor network producing predictive price path data for trading strategies.

I've also organised around 200 events in Berlin to make the tech industry more accessible.
